  • 2 cups sushi rice
  • 1/2 cup rice vinegar
  • 1.5 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 100g smoked salmon thinly sliced
  • 1 nori sheet (seaweed)

How to make it

  1. Cook the sushi rice as per your rice cooker instructions

  2. While the rice is cooking, in a small pot, heat the rice vinegar, sugar, and salt together to make the sushi vinegar on medium heat until the sugar dissolves. 

  3. Once the rice is cooked, pour the sushi vinegar over it and mix to flavour the rice and let it cool down a little.

  4. Put a slice of smoked salmon in the middle of the cling film. Topped it with a spoonful of sushi rice. Wrap up the cling film and shape into a ball.

  5. Remove the cling film. Cut the seaweed into shapes of eyes and mouth for decoration.

  6. Serve with soy sauce, mayo, and wasabi (optional).
