Beer Battered Gurnard Fillets

 Serves: 2      Prep Time: 3mins      Cook Time: 15 mins 

 

INGREDIENTS

 

  • 400g gurnard fillets
  • 4 tbsp rice flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • To taste salt&pepper
  • 1/3 standard bottle beer ( just use any beer available at home)
  • 1 cup cooking oil

HOW TO MAKE IT

  1. Mix dry ingredients (rice flour, salt&pepper and baking powder), then add beer. Stir until evenly mixed.

  2. Add gurnard fillets into the batter to coat. Heat the oil until it reaches smoking point. 

  3. Shallow or deep fry the gurnards until golden at med-high heat. Serve with garden salads and chips and a wedge of lemon/lime.
